Awards
 

20th May 2004 Community Award Shield presented to Marah Trust by Stroud Town Council.  This award was for the year 2004/05.

 

July 2004 Marah Trust achieved ‘class winner’ for the best float in the Stroud Show

 

On 28th July 2004 Marah was awarded the Queens Award For Voluntary Services. Lord Lieutenant Henry Elwes, (pictured below) shares a joke with Frankie Saunders after the presentation.


Frankie who was a great
favourite of Marah’s clients and staff spent many years 'living ‘rough’ on Stroud’s streets. Marah worked successfully with Stroud District Council to re-house him. He was provided with a good flat in Minchinhampton in April 2005. Sadly Frankie died from lung  cancer only nine months later in January 2006.

  

22nd February 2006 Miss Marjory Phelps, founder member of The Marah Trust was decorated by Her Majesty The Queen with the MBE for her services to the community.
